ADVISORY: FINAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL TOWN MEETING
Media are advised to arrive at the French Field House filing
center between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday (2/18). The town
meeting runs from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at St. John Arena at The Ohio State
University.
Media who wish to enter the arena press section or participate in
the photo opportunity before the program must arrive by 12:30 p.m.
Reporters will be required to remain seated in a special area. No
cameras, tape recorders or video cameras are allowed in the arena
during the town meeting.
Reporters planning to stay in the filing center during the event
may arrive at any time. The program will be aired on large screens in
the filing center.
Credentialing will be done on site on Wednesday, beginning at 11
a.m. at the French Field House entrance on Woody Hayes Drive. Media
representatives will be required to present a media employee press
pass or a photo identification with letterhead proof of affiliation
with a media organization.
Still AND video photographers will have one brief photo
opportunity immediately before the program begins. All photographers
wishing to take part must be at the filing center (French Field House)
no later than 12:30 p.m. for a security check and escort to the arena.
Secretary Albright, Secretary Cohen, Mr. Berger and the CNN anchors
will be on stage during the photo op, participating in final
preparations for the broadcast. TV videography will be on tape only,
and available studio light must be used.
Broadcast
CNN has exclusive broadcast rights but will provide a full feed
to Columbus TV stations. No feed will be provided for radio.
TV: No live shots will be permitted inside St. John Arena before
or during the event.
Airport reminder
Open press photography opportunities will take place at Port
Columbus International Airport Wednesday during the arrival and
departure of Secretary Albright, Secretary Cohen and Mr. Berger. The
photo ops take place at Gate 44 of the Fifth Avenue Air Cargo
Entrance, Building 58, at Port Columbus. No interviews will be
permitted.
The media must be in place by 11 a.m. for the 12:40 p.m. arrival.
Credentialing (same requirements as above) will be done on-site. For
the 5:30 p.m. departure, the media must be in place by 4:30 p.m. at
the same location. Credentialing procedures will be the same as for
the arrival.
Media Parking
The only parking for TV satellite trucks will be at the east
entrance of the lot north of the skating rink. Trucks must be on site
between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Other media and VIP parking will be in the
lot south of the French Field House off Woody Hayes Drive. This lot
is adjacent to the filing center in French Field House and is
available on a first-come, first-served basis. Media also may use
regular university media permits to park in any surface lot.
Ticket update
The number of general admission tickets was decided upon
primarily for security purposes. It was determined that 5,000 guests
could be admitted in the time available before the event. All guests
will be required to pass through metal detectors. No additional
tickets will be printed.
