Analysis of draft airport assessment continuing

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State University’s comprehensive analysis of the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Ohio State Airport at Don Scott Field is continuing, said William A. “Bud” Baeslack III, dean of the College of Engineering.

“We had expected to have our analysis complete by now, but have had difficulty obtaining some necessary information from sources outside the University,” Baeslack said. An earlier timeline had indicated the draft EA would be submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in early February, but that is no longer feasible, given the information delay, he said.

Analysts are continuing to move forward to obtain the information they need to complete their review, Baeslack said. Although he said it is unclear as to when the review will be completed, he will keep the community informed of his progress.

“We will announce the revised timetable as soon as it becomes available, and well in advance of our submission of the draft EA to the FAA,” he said.
