Annual 'Day of Service,' student march to honor King
Preparing meals at the Unverferth House and lending a hand at the YWCA Interfaith Hospitality Center are just two examples of the service that Ohio State students will provide Monday (1/16) as part of "MLK Day of Service 2006." Following registration and a short program at the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High St., students will go to some 25 designated sites to volunteer. They'll return to the Hale Black Cultural Center, 153 W. 12th Ave., at approximately 1:30 p.m. for lunch and an afternoon program.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., volunteers will depart from the Hale Center on a symbolic march around the Ohio State campus. Following the campus march, transportation downtown will be available for students who wish to participate in the citywide march and celebration.
