Author of World War II best sellers to speak at Ohio State

Author James Bradley will speak at The Ohio State University at 4 p.m. on Tues., Feb. 3, in the Wexner Center Film/Video Theatre, 1871 N. High St. As a guest of the John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy, Bradley will discuss his two best-selling books about extraordinary bravery in World War II.

Bradley’s books “Flags of Our Fathers” and “Flyboys: A True Story of Courage” have climbed to first and fourth on the New York Times best-seller list. “Flags of Our Fathers” is a chronicle of the six flag raisers at Iwo Jima. “Flyboys: A True Story of Courage” is the World War II story of nine Navy and Marine aviators who were shot down and held on the island of Chichi Jima.

Bradley will be introduced by former Sen. John Glenn. Ohio State President Karen Holbrook will welcome the audience. Following the lecture, Glenn Institute Director Deborah Merritt will moderate questions from the audience.

Bradley's lecture is part of the John Glenn Institute’s Odyssey 2000+ speaker series. The talk is supported by the Ohio Telecom Association.
