Bicentennial quilts by 4-H volunteers are on display at Ohio State Fair

Nearly 20 crib-sized quilts, made by adult and youth 4-H volunteers in honor of the Ohio Bicentennial and on display at the Ohio State Fair, will be donated to local charities.

The quilts, which will be on display through Aug. 17 in “Clover Town” in the Youth Discovery Building at the Ohio Expo Center, have patterns that are significant to Ohio and its history.

Media are invited to a reception with about 75 of the 4-H volunteers from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, in “Clover Town.”

After the fair, the quilts will be given to organizations that help needy families, such as abuse shelters, health centers and GRAD programs, which are for teenage mothers.
