Buckeye fans treated to ‘Keys to the ’Shoe’ performance

TBDBITL closes out home season with a symphony of scarlet and gray

The Ohio State University Marching Band turned Ohio Stadium into a grand concert hall on Saturday afternoon with their latest production, “Keys to the ’Shoe.” The performance, during halftime at the Rutgers game, was a symphonic showcase featuring some of the most iconic piano works in classical music with a touch of Buckeye flair.

Fans were treated to arrangements of Rachmaninoff’s “Prelude No. 2, Shostakovich’s “Piano Concerto No. 2,” Mozart’s “Rondo alla Turca,” Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto No. 2,” Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata,” and Mussorgsky’s “Baba Yaga and “Great Gate of Kiev” from “Pictures at an Exhibition.

Each piece was brought to life with intricate formations, including a Block O framed in diamonds, piano keys, moons and even a piano-playing formation across the field.

Saturday’s i-dotter was Conner Click, an information systems major from Powell, Ohio.
