Buckeyes look to sink Ducks in fundraising competition

The Ohio State University and the University of Oregon will go head-to-beak in the “Bucks vs. Ducks” giving challenge, a competition from Jan. 9-13 to see which school can rally the most donors to give to their respective university.

“The challenge is about the number of people who jump in to give, so every gift makes a difference,” said Ohio State University President Michael V. Drake. “Gifts from alumni, students, parents and friends to any academic or medical center fund in any amount will be included in the challenge, but the focus, for Ohio State, will be on supporting scholarships. We hope to make a real splash with this effort.”

Gifts can be made online by visiting the web at go.osu.edu/bucksvsducks. The winning school will be announced by end of day Jan. 13.Basking rights go to the university with the greatest number of alumni, students and friends who make a gift leading up to and during the football game.
