highlighting some of the upcoming events at the Columbus campus.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, COLUMBUS CAMPUS
     All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise

Through May 21
Theatre -- "Mad Forest" by Caryl Churchill, presented by the OSU
Theatre Company at Stadium II Theatre, 1849 Cannon Drive.
Tickets are $9.50 and $10.50 (discounts for OSU students, faculty
and staff).  Call the box office at 292-2295 for performance
dates and times.

May 16
*Faculty Panel: "Should Multiculturalism Be of Concern to
Everyone on Campus?" 7:30 p.m., Grand Lounge of the Faculty Club,
181 S. Oval Drive.  First of a three-part series; see also May 23

May 17
*Women's Health -- Renee Caputo, a physician specializing in
urogynecology, will discuss incontinence in women during a Caring
for Women program presented by the University Medical Center at 7
p.m. at the Ramada University Hotel, 3110 Olentangy River Road.

Outdoor Concert -- Jazz Combos, directed by Hank Marr,  will
perform at 7:30 p.m. in Browning Amphitheater at Mirror Lake.

*Fitness Forum -- Causes, prevention and treatment of foot
problems will be discussed at the final program of Fitness Forum,
a program of free health information for older adults.
Podiatrist Richard Stewart will speak at 8:30 a.m. at the Lane
Avenue Shopping Center's Food Court.  Sandi Latimer, 293-3660.

*Performance -- Floyd Red Crow Westerman, an American Indian
actor, singer, songwriter and advocate will perform at 7:30 p.m.
in the Conference Theater of the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High St.

Lecture -- "Walter Benjamin's Essay on Goethe's 'Elective
Affinities,'" by Professor Stanley Corngold of Princeton
University. 3:30 p.m., Grand Lounge of the Faculty Club, 181 S.
Oval Drive.  This is the fourth annual Carolyn Engel Luebeck
Lecture, sponsored by the Department of Germanic Languages and

*Faculty Panel: "Should Society at Large Care about What Academe
Says or Does about Multiculturalism?"  7:30 p.m., Grand Lounge of

African-American Health Fair -- Sponsored by the Frank W. Hale
Jr. Black Cultural Center, with free screenings for diabetes,
high blood pressure, sight and glaucoma, sickle cell, and cancer

*Women's Health -- Rebecca Jackson, a physician and osteoporosis
expert at the University Medical Center, will discuss prevention
and treatment of osteoporosis at 7 p.m. at the Ramada University

May 25
Business Symposium -- The Max M. Fisher College of Business
presents the seventh biennial W. Arthur Cullman Symposium at the
Fawcett Center for Tomorrow, 2400 Olentangy River Road.  This
year's topic is "Information Technology in Global Commerce."
Keynote speaker is Jeff Heller, senior vice president of
Electronic Data Systems; Edward McCracken, chairman and CEO of
Silicon Graphics, will receive the Cullman Executive Award.
Registration required; $190 fee per participant.  Reporters

Holiday -- Office and classrooms closed in observance of Memorial
Day.  University Medical Center, WOSU stations and other seven-
days-a-week operations will maintain normal schedules, as will

June 2
Graduate Student Panel: "Multiculturalism in Academe and
Society." 7:30 p.m., Stecker Lounge of the Ohio Union, 1739 N.
High St.  This is a response to the two faculty panels which
preceded in this three-part series; see also May 16 and May 23.

June 3
Meeting -- Board of Trustees, regular monthly meeting.  Fawcett
Center for Tomorrow, 2400 Olentangy River Road.  Agenda available

June 4
Health Workshop -- Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's
Disease is the topic of a noon to 4 p.m. educational workshop at
the Fawcett Center for Tomorrow, 2400 Olentangy River Road.
Physicians, nurses, social workers and an attorney will make
presentations.  Co-sponsored by the University Medical Center and
the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio.  The workshop is
free, but pre-registration is required -- call 293-4815 by

June 10
*Commencement -- Spring quarter commencement ceremonies will
begin at 9:30 a.m. in Ohio Stadium.  Speaker is Mark Goldston,
president of L.A. Gear.  About 5,800 degrees will be awarded.
