Campus community to celebrate life of Bill Hall

A public remembrance ceremony for Bill Hall, Ohio State University vice president for student affairs, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (12/3) at Mershon Auditorium, 1871 N. High Street. Hall, a member of the Ohio State family for nearly 30 years, died of cancer on Sunday (11/27).

Doors will open at 10 a.m. No tickets or reservations are needed, and free parking is available in the Ohio Union garage.

The non-denominational service will feature reflections from Ohio State President Karen Holbrook, a representative from the City of Columbus, members of the Student Affairs staff, an Ohio State student, and a representative of the Ohio Army National Guard. In recognition of Hall's 30 years of service in the Guard, it will also include a military entrance, flag ceremony and "Taps." The service is expected to last about an hour and a reception will follow at the Ohio Union, 1759 N. High St.

Media accommodations:
Media may report on the service from a media section at rear of the auditorium. There will be an audio mult-box in the media section. Camera pre-set is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Media are requested to confine interviews to the lobby or outside the building and to respect the wishes of guests who do not want to speak to reporters or be photographed. The family will not give interviews. The reception at the Ohio Union is not open to working media, but any journalists who wish to attend as private guests are welcome.

Media may park in the Ohio Union garage.
