Campus Traffic and Construction Update 4/12
Over the next few months, the campus area will undergo unprecedented construction, with some traffic patterns, walkways, and parking areas temporarily altered in the name of progress. Motorists and pedestrians should plan for extra time, or an alternate route around these locations:
·12th Avenue restrictions. All traffic exiting the 12th Avenue Garage is detoured eastbound. All traffic not accessing the parking along 12th Avenue should use King Avenue as a detour. For now, motorists parking in the North Cannon Garage still permitted to exit westbound.
·Wiseman Lot. Remaining spaces in Wiseman Hall surface lot will be removed on April 13th. Motorists encouraged to park in the Buckeye Lot at Fred Taylor and Ackerman, and ride the shuttle. Pedestrian access on the north side of the lot will remain open.
·Cannon Drive and Lincoln Tower parking lot. Repaving of Cannon is scheduled to begin on April 14th, and will start at the south end of street and work north. Repaving of Lincoln will begin on April 14th or 15th and will result in the return of more than 50 parking spaces.
·New exit from North Cannon continues. Work on a second exit onto Upham Drive has begun. During the construction, parking spaces on the first floor, adjacent to the new exit, are blocked off.
·Cannon Drive restricted. Two lanes closed, but traffic maintained; east sidewalk closed.
·9th Avenue restricted. Reduced to 1 lane each direction; west entrance to 9th Avenue Garage closed; use entrance on north side.
·19th Avenue Closed. Steamline work continues; street closed to through traffic; access to west side of 19th available via 17th/Neil.
·Pedestrian Map. A new map designed to help pedestrians navigate their way around campus construction is now online at http://constructionawareness.osu.edu/sidewalks
