Campus Traffic and Construction Update

Over the next few months, the campus area will undergo unprecedented construction, with some traffic patterns, walkways, and parking areas temporarily altered in the name of progress. Motorists and pedestrians should plan for extra time, or an alternate route around these locations:

Lane Avenue. Reduced to one lane, eastbound only between High Street and Neil Avenue. These restrictions are in effect daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are expected to be in place at least one week. Norwich or Woodruff Avenues can be used for alternate westbound routes.

12th Avenue Restrictions. Traffic reduced to one-way eastbound between Neil Avenue and the hospitals’through June 4. Motorists should use King Avenue as a detour. Motorists parking in the North Cannon Garage still permitted to exit westbound.
·The east gate of the 12th Avenue Garage will be closed intermittently, resulting in only one exit from the garage onto 12th.

9th Avenue rerouted. The realigned portion of 9th Avenue from Perry Street to Belmont Avenue is now open. However, traffic continues reduced to one lane each direction; west entrance to 9th Avenue Garage closed; use entrance on north side.

Magruder Road closure. Road scheduled to close May 17. Closure will restrict access to 18th Avenue. 18th will be open to motorcycle parking and pedestrians only between Magruder and the control gate near College.

Knowlton and Hitchcock. Pedestrian traffic between the two buildings is affected while new trees and shrubs are planted. The bus stop on Woody Hayes in front of Knowlton has been moved closer to Hitchcock Hall.

Lincoln and Morrill Towers East Bridge/Walkway Project. Bridge and sidewalk replacement has begun on east side of towers.
·The sidewalks east of the towers from just north of Morrill to the South Lincoln parking lot are closed, along with the east entrances (facing Larkins Hall) and the east stair lobbies (between the second and third floors) in both towers.
·The drive around the base of the towers, including the parking spaces, is also closed. Disability parking has been relocated to the west stadium parking lot or the lot south of Lincoln.
·Primary entrances to both buildings are through the Northwest and Southwest second-floor entrances.
