College of Human Ecology’s Jumpstart Columbus to host a literacy festival

Jumpstart Columbus, a project of the College of Human Ecology that promotes preschool literacy and school readiness skills, is hosting a literacy festival from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday (5/14) at the Godman Guild, 303 N. 6th St.

The Jumpstart for a Day Literacy Festival will offer learning activities for preschool children and their families throughout the day. At the festival, children can visit learning stations to make things like alphabet bookmarks and musical instruments. Parents who attend can learn how to support the development of children’s social and language skills needed for success later in school.

Jumpstart for a Day is for all the families in the preschools partnering with Jumpstart Columbus, but it also is open to the public.
