College of Veterinary Medicine students sponsor Service Dog Day

Students at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine along with the Veterinary K9 Association and Nestle Purina are presenting a Service Dog Day from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. tomorrow (10/1). The event is open to the public, and will be of interest to those who train and care for service dogs as well as for anyone involved with a person with a disability who is using a service animal or considering obtaining one.

Guest speakers, including a veterinarian who uses a seeing-eye dog, will discuss topics such as Training Process for Assistant Dogs, Open Client Communication, and Obtaining an Assistant Dog. A service dog platform performance will take place from 11 a.m. to noon.
