Columbus campus classes resume on Friday

Online classes will also occur, as scheduled

The National Weather Service is predicting that accumulating snowfall in Columbus will end around 2 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4. University landscaping crews continue to work to clear roads and sidewalks in advance of the morning commute.

The Ohio State University Columbus campus will resume in-person classes, as scheduled, on Friday, Feb. 4. Online classes will also occur, as scheduled.

The Office of Academic Affairs strongly encourages faculty to offer flexibility for students that request special accommodations necessitated by weather. The Office of Student Life Disability Services offers support to students. Additionally, paratransit services serves students, faculty and staff with a permanent or temporary disability.

Columbus campus is resuming regular operations. Staff members should work in accordance with their normal schedule, in consultation with their supervisor.

Ohio State takes very seriously our obligation to provide the full measure of instruction to all students. Please plan ahead, allow extra time for travel and dress appropriately for the weather.

SAFETY TIPS

We recommend that everyone continue to dress appropriately for the weather and use caution while traveling.

  • Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing.
  • Wear outer garments that are tightly woven, water repellent, or hooded.
  • Wear a hat – 40 percent of your body heat can be lost from your head.
  • Wear mittens that are snug at the wrist; mittens are better than gloves.
  • Try to stay dry and out of the wind.

When traveling around campus, remember that public transportation is available. You can find real-time CABS bus arrival information via the Ohio State app. Riding COTA? Visit cota.com for service info.

The university’s Department of Public Safety offers a real-time weather forecast online.
