of Appeals, Sixth Circuit.

HONORARY DEGREES: Don Kirkham, professor emeritus at Iowa State
University and leading scientist in the fields of soil physics
and hydrology, Doctor of Science; Howard Metzenbaum, U.S. Senator
from Ohio, Doctor of Laws; Thomas J. Moyer, chief justice of the
Ohio Supreme Court, Doctor of Laws.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD: John G. Kramer of Martins Ferry,
alumnus of the College of Dentistry and three-time chair of the
University Hospitals Board.

INVOCATION:  Martha A. Glockner, assistant director, pastoral
care, University Hospitals.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Led by Cynthia Lynn Everingham, Class of 1993.
