Convocation Ceremony will welcome new students

President Gee, the marching band and other special guests will welcome 7,000 new Ohio State students during Convocation at 10:30 a.m. on Monday (9/22) at St. John Arena, 410 Woody Hayes Drive.

At the event, students will learn some of the university's history and traditions, including the words to Carmen Ohio, and follow the marching band from St. John Arena across the street to Ohio Stadium.

In Ohio Stadium, they'll see themselves on the giant scoreboard as they march down the ramp to the field. Students will leave the stadium and head for the Oval, for a free lunch and the Student Involvement Fair.

For the 14th consecutive year, Ohio State's freshman class ranks higher than any previous class with 54 percent ranking among the top 10 percent of their high school class and an average ACT score of 27.3.
