Documentary filmmaker to speak at Ohio State

Award-winning documentary filmmaker Ken Burns will lecture on “Sharing the American Experience,” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Weigel Hall, 1866 College Road. In his lecture, Burns will discuss many of his renowned film series, including “The Civil War,” “Baseball,” and “Jazz.”

Burns’ lecture is part of the series “Odyssey 2000+ New Issues for a New Century,” sponsored by The John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy at Ohio State. The talk is made possible with generous support from the Ohio Telecom Association.

Burns will be introduced by former Sen. John Glenn and University President Karen A. Holbrook. Following the lecture, Provost Ed Ray will moderate questions from the audience.
