Elementary students to visit Environmental Molecular Science Institute

Approximately 100 fourth- and fifth-grade students from the Columbus Public Schools ECLIPSE program will meet with Ohio State researchers and faculty from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday (11/18) at the Environmental Molecular Science Institute, 100 W. 18th Ave.

The students will meet with Ohio State researchers and faculty from the Environmental Molecular Science Institute (EMSI), enjoy a “Super Science Show” presented by EMSI program director Megan Moses, have “Snacks with Scientists,” take lab tours, and participate in a hands-on science experiment.

The ECLIPSE (Extending Classroom Learning/Instruction: Producing Student Excellence) program began in 1987 in Columbus Public Schools and was modeled after Cleveland’s Major Work Program.

WHAT: Approximately 100 fourth- and fifth-grade students from the Columbus Public Schools ECLIPSE program will come to Ohio.

WHEN: 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday (11/18).

WHY: To learn from Ohio State researchers and faculty from the Environmental Molecular Science Institute.
