Experts can discuss various aspects of the election in Iraq

Ohio State experts are available to discuss various aspects surrounding Sunday’s (1/30) election in Iraq. Below are the experts.

• Richard Herrmann, professor of political science and director of the Mershon Center, which focuses on the interdisciplinary study of international security, is an expert on politics and American foreign policy in the Middle East. • John Mueller, Wayne Woodrow Hayes Professor of National Security Studies in the Mershon Center, is an expert on international relations and war. He can discuss the effect of the war on the elections. Mueller can be reached by e-mail at bbbb@osu.edu.

• Jane Hathaway, associate professor of history, is an expert in Islamic and world history. She can discuss the history of Iraq from the rule of the Ottoman Empire to the rise of Saddam Hussein as well as the differences between Sunni and Shi`ite Islam.
