I oversee a research project in West Africa where we study the anatomy and behavior of seven monkey species. Over the last twenty years, our team has collected extensive skeletal material (including jaws and teeth) from deceased monkeys for whom we have long term feeding data. We are now interested in examining the material and nutritional properties of the monkey foods in order to better understand interspecific differences and to understand the evolution of masticatory morphology in all primates including humans.
