Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology
Mike Vuolo is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at The Ohio State University. I hold the following degrees from the University of Minnesota: a PhD in sociology (2009), an MS in statistics(2007), and an MS in Mathematics (2011). My research and teaching interests include crime, law, and deviance; health; sociology of work and education; substance use; the life course; and statistics and methodology. I have been both Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on grants funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In 2013, I received the Junior Scholar Award from the American Sociological Association Section on Alcohol, Drugs, and Tobacco. I have authored 26 peer-reviewed articles found in journals such as Social Forces, Criminology, Sociological Methods & Research, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Demography, Law & Society Review, American Journal of Public Health, and Pediatrics.
