Foegler to be Campus Partners President

CAMPUS PARTNERS SELECTS NEW PRESIDENT

Terry D. Foegler, assistant city manager/director of development for the
city of Dublin, Ohio, has been selected as the new president of Campus
Partners, the non-profit redevelopment corporation which is working to
revitalize the neighborhoods around The Ohio State University.

David Williams II, chair of the Campus Partners Board of Trustees and vice
president for student affairs at Ohio State, announced the selection of
Foegler on Wednesday (8/28).  Foegler's appointment is subject to approval
by the university's Board of Trustees.  He is expected to begin in his new
position about Sept. 23.

"We are very pleased to have attracted Mr. Foegler to lead Campus
Partners," Williams said.  "Terry's experience in the design, negotiation
and implementation of numerous public-private development projects will be
vitally important as Campus Partners moves from a series of planning
recommendations to major projects which will improve the quality of life for
our students and other residents of the University District.

"Terry also brings with him extensive knowledge from both the public and
private sectors in project financing, intergovernmental coordination,
citizen participation and the management of multiple, complex projects,"
Williams said.

E. Gordon Gee, president of Ohio State, noted that Foegler will strengthen
the partnership among the university, city and neighborhoods for effective
action.  "Our appointment of Terry underscores Ohio State's continuing
commitment to Campus Partners as a vehicle for neighborhood improvement,"
Gee said.

"Over the next few months, Terry will work with city, neighborhood, and
university leaders to identify key initiating projects and move forward,"
Gee said.  "Working together, we can improve our neighborhoods so they will
be clean, safe communities for our students, faculty and staff, and other
residents."

Foegler has been assistant city manager/director of development for the
city of Dublin since 1990.  His previous work has been as director of
development for Communicare, a regional health care management and
development company; engineering project manager for Thousand Trails, Inc.,
a developer of recreational camping resorts; director of planning and
development for the city of Lebanon, Ohio; a planner with the Northern
Kentucky Area Planning Commission; and a consultant.

He earned his bachelor of arts degree in urban geography from the
University of Cincinnati in 1974 and a master's degree in urban planning
from the University of Illinois in 1976.

Ohio State created Campus Partners for Community Urban Redevelopment, Inc.,
in January 1995.  Campus Partners' initial priorities were to develop a
comprehensive neighborhood revitalization plan and implementation program
and to promote projects which can have an immediate positive impact on the
neighborhoods.  Ohio State has provided on-going operating and planning
funds for Campus Partners.  The city of Columbus and The Columbus Foundation
also have funded Campus Partners' planning efforts.

The culmination of Campus Partners' 18-month planning effort came last
month with the publication of its comprehensive plan, University
Neighborhoods Revitalization Concept.  The plan includes more than 200
recommendations in the areas of public safety, transportation and parking,
the retail and housing markets, human services, urban planning, trash
collection and code enforcement.

The first president of Campus Partners, Barry Humphries, left his position
at the end of March to return to his private business.
