Four OSU Women Invited to White House

                          NEWS ADVISORY:
               FOUR TO ATTEND WHITE HOUSE RECEPTION

     Four Ohio State University employees will attend a reception 
Friday (5/19) at 4:30 p.m. at the White House as guests of 
President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

     The employees are officers in the Columbus chapter of 9 to 
5, a national organization for women office workers.  On Saturday 
(5/20), they will participatie in a conference sponsored by the 
Women's Bureau of the Department of Labor.  The White House 
reception is being held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the 
founding of the Women's Bureau.

     Attending from Ohio State will be Virginia Midkiff of 
COLUMBUS (43235), administrative secretary in Lab Animal 
Resources and president of the Columbus chapter of 9 to 5; Diana 
Jenkins of UPPER ARLINGTON (43221), secretary in Women Student 
Services and chapter treasurer; Norma Harper of COLUMBUS (43202), 
administrative assistant in the Department of Agricultural 
Engineering and chapter vice president; and Martha P. Lowe of 
COLUMBUS (43209), secretary in University Development and past 
president of 9 to 5.
