‘Grease’ is the word during Ohio State halftime show

Marching band pays tribute to famous film at Wisconsin game

The Ohio State University Marching Band celebrated more than 50 years of “Grease” the musical, which debuted in 1971, as well as the popular film during Saturday’s halftime show. While the tribute was planned prior to the passing of Olivia Newton-John, “Hopelessly Devoted to You” (sung by Newton-John in the 1978 film) was featured in the performance.

Additionally, TBDBITL performed “Grease Theme,” “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’,” “You’re the One That I Want” and “We Go Together.” The band’s formations included a jukebox, racing cars and a Ferris wheel, as well as the words “Sandy” and “Danny” as a nod to the roles made famous by Newton-John and John Travolta in the film.

History and international studies student Chris Cortese dotted the “i.”
