Holbrook to discuss the ‘State of the University’

President Karen A. Holbrook will speak about Ohio State’s progress over the past year and outline her vision for the future at the annual “State of the University” address. The address, which is part of a meeting with the University Senate, Ohio State’s faculty governing body, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday (10/14) in Weigel Hall auditorium, 1866 College Road.

The university is at the beginning of a new academic year, welcoming last month its best-prepared freshman class for the 10th year in a row. In addition, the university recently reported growth of nearly 14 percent in externally sponsored research awards over the past year to reach an all-time high of more than $528 million, putting Ohio State 12th among public universities in research expenditures overall and 6th in corporate support.
