Holbrook will join Ohio, Kansas governors to serve children breakfast
Ohio State President Karen Holbrook, members of the university’s football team and its coaching staff, Brutus Buckeye and cheerleaders will join Gov. Bob Taft, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, the Children’s Hunger Alliance and others for the USDA “Go Bucks” Breakfast for children at Kent Elementary School. The event is a result of the pledge by Kansas’ governor to serve food to children in Ohio since Kansas State University lost to Ohio State during this year’s Fiesta Bowl.
The event runs from 8 to 9 a.m. on Friday (4/23) in the Kent Elementary School cafeteria, 1414 Gault St. At approximately 8:35 a.m., Holbrook will join Taft, Sebelius and others to serve breakfast to the children.
In addition, Gene Harris, superintendent of Columbus Public Schools, and Bill Dolan, CEO of Children’s Hunger Alliance, also will give remarks at the event.
