Homecoming festivities continue with Step Afrika!
A showcase of diverse exhibits and talents, including the university's first multicultural Greek Step Show, will be featured from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday (10/12) in the west ballroom of the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High Street. The program is a part of the "Buckeyes Through the Decades" homecoming celebration this week on The Ohio State University campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will start with a "Unity Step," featuring Greek alumni and current Greek organizations at 6:30 p.m. Step Afrika!, a professional dance team comprised of young artists from the United States and the South Africa based Soweto Dance Theatre will follow at 8 p.m.
Both performances will highlight the art from of stepping which is linked to African American fraternities and sororities, and traditional South African dance, including the gumboot dance, tap and hoofing.
