John Glenn Institute announces strategic alliance with Battelle
Columbus - Battelle and the John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy at The Ohio State University have formed a strategic alliance designed to foster innovative and collaborative dialogue and research associated with key contemporary policy issues. As part of this alliance, two Battelle lectures and one Battelle Policy Day are planned for the 2005-2006 Academic Year.
The Battelle Policy Day is designed to inspire scholars from a wide range of disciplines to examine emerging policy issues concerning the relationships between privacy and technology. Perspectives by selected experts will be distributed to a broad group of policymakers to encourage thoughtful discussion of this set of issues. Battelle and the Glenn Institute are formally soliciting proposals from OSU faculty members who are interested in preparing papers on this topic. Five winners will have the opportunity to present their findings at the Battelle Policy Day scheduled to be held during Winter quarter 2006. This conference will be attended by Senator John Glenn,
Carl F. Kohrt, President and CEO of Battelle, and other business, community, policy and public service leaders. In addition, the John Glenn Institute will publish all Policy Day papers as part of a new working paper series on privacy and technology.
The Battelle Headline Lecture Series will raise public awareness of the targeted issues of privacy, technology, and innovation by bringing prominent speakers on these subjects to the Ohio State campus. The first lecture will be held in Autumn quarter, and the second is planned for early Spring quarter 2006.
