Kasich to discuss relationship between Iraq, United States

Ohio State alumnus John Kasich, who served for 18 years in the U.S. Congress, will discuss the relationship between Iraq and the leadership in the United States from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday (11/4) at the Kuhn Honors & Scholars House, 220 W. 12th Ave.

Kasich, who graduated from Ohio State in 1974, ran for president in 1999. While he was chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Budget Committee, he negotiated the first balanced budget in 30 years and laid the foundation for welfare reform. He is the author of the best-selling book “Courage is Contagious” and was named “One of the Most Fascinating Men in Politics” by George magazine. Newsweek magazine also included him among the 100 most important people to watch in the next century. Kasich frequently serves as a host of “Fox News” and the “O’Reilly Factor.” He also chairs a grassroots organization, the New Century Project.
