Law panel to examine Michigan's Affirmative Action policy

The role of affirmative action in law school admissions will be the focus of a panel discussion at noon today (3/12) at the Moritz College of Law, 55 W. 12th Ave.

Three Moritz Law professors will look at Grutter v. Bollinger, which challenges the affirmative action policies of the University of Michigan?s College of Law, one of two cases that will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court on April 1.

Today's panel will consist of Martha Chamallas, the Robert J. Lynn Chair in Law; Louis Jacobs, professor of law; and john a. powell, the Gregory H. Williams Chair in Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and executive director of the Kirwan Institute for Race and Ethnicity in the Americas. Marc Spindelman, assistant professor of law, will moderate the panel.
