Marching band celebrates the best of Broadway

Beloved musicals inspire halftime show

The Ohio State University Marching Band turned to Broadway for inspiration for the second time in recent years for Saturday’s halftime show.

In 2016, the band performed its “Buckeyes on Broadway” show that included music from “Hamilton,” “Wicked,” “The Lion King” and “Monty Python’s Spamalot.” This year’s show dipped into the musical catalog of some historical Broadway shows.

TBDBITL performed songs from “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Hair” and “Phantom of the Opera,” among others. Formations included the band spelling out Broadway, the Phantom’s mask and the curtain being raised on a theater stage.

Biomedical science graduate Austin Hare dotted the “i.”
