Mario Cuomo available for media interviews Wednesday

Mario Cuomo, the longest serving Democratic governor of New York, is available for media interviews at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday (4/14) in Room 202 of Pfahl Hall, 280 W. Woodruff Ave.

Cuomo is the featured guest in The Ohio State University’s First Year Distinguished Speaker Series. He will speak at 7:30 p.m. (4/14) in Weigel Hall Auditorium, 1866 College Road.

Sponsored each spring by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience, the speaker series was developed to give first-year students the opportunity to interact with world opinion leaders.

Cuomo served three consecutive terms as New York’s governor beginning in 1982. He established records for popularity in both his 1986 and 1990 re-election bids, earning the highest percentage of votes and largest margins of victory in the state’s history. Cuomo’s recent book, “Reason to Believe,” outlines his political assessment of the country’s past, present and future.
