MEDIA ADVISORY: Ohio State holds events in Texas ahead of the College Football Playoff National Championship game with Oregon

In addition to myriad College Football Playoff-sponsored happenings, Ohio State University students, alumni, fans, players and officials who are in Texas will participate in a variety of events leading up to the first College Football Playoff National Championship. SATURDAY, JAN. 10

College Football Playoff Media Day. Coaches and players from Ohio State and the University of Oregon will take turns mixing and mingling with media from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center, 650 S. SUNDAY, JAN. 11

Ohio State Marching Band to rehearse. Before the Ohio State University Marching Band performs at halftime of Monday’s College Football Playoff game, it will have two open rehearsals. The band will rehearse both Sunday and Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lake Highlands High School, 9449 Church Road in Dallas. CONTACT: Jane Carroll, 614-570-7948 or carroll.296@osu.edu.

Buckeye fans celebrate at the Buckeye Bash. Ohio State fans will celebrate and soak in the national championship vibe at the Buckeye Bash, sponsored by the Ohio State University Alumni Association. The event takes place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Hilton Anatole, 2201 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas. The free event features Archie Griffin, President Michael V. Drake, the Ohio State Marching Band, cheerleaders, Brutus, and 2002 national championship team members Mike Doss, Branden Joe, Craig Krenzel and Dustin Fox. MONDAY, JAN. 12

Community Service Project benefits food pantry. The Ohio State University and the University of Oregon are teaming up to perform a community service project in North Texas, site of the National Championship game. Students, fans and university leaders from both schools will partner with the Community Storehouse of Keller, Texas, to work in their pantry distribution center.
