MEDIA ARRRANGEMENTS FOR JAYSON GWINN SERVICE
A public viewing and memorial service will be conducted for
Jayson Gwinn on Thursday morning (Dec. 16) at Mershon Auditorium
on the Ohio State campus. Gwinn, an Ohio State University
football player, was killed in a car accident early Sunday
morning.
The family will receive friends during the viewing from 10
a.m. to noon. Services will begin at noon.
In order to facilitate news media coverage of the event
while preserving the family's privacy and the dignity of the
occasion, the following guidelines have been set for reporters:
=FE A section of seating at the front left of the auditorium has
been reserved for reporters, photographers and videographers.
All news personnel are requested to remain in this section of the
auditorium during the services. All photography inside the
auditorium must be conducted from the media section, and
reporters are asked not to approach mourners inside the
auditorium.
=FE All live broadcasts (stand ups, interviews, etc.) must be
conducted in the lobby or outside the building.
=FE A mult box will be provided for audio feeds of the speakers.
=FE Free parking for the public and news media will be provided in
the Ohio Union garage, south of Mershon on High Street.
=FE TV crews who need to run cable to the auditorium may park on
the paved area between Mershon/Wexner and the Arps garage (the
old 17th Avenue).
If you have specific questions about these arrangements, please
call Amy Murray at University Communications this afternoon. Her
phone number is 292-8385.
