Media Availability Re Football Parking

NEWS ADVISORY:
OHIO STATE OFFICIALS WILL DISCUSS FOOTBALL PARKING TUESDAY

Fans driving to Ohio State University football games this
fall will face changes in traffic patterns and parking arrangements. The
changes are necessary because of a number of construction projects on the
campus, which are eliminating traditionally used parking spaces and causing
changes in traffic patterns.

The changes and suggested alternatives have been outlined in the materials
mailed by the Athletic Ticket Office along with tickets. They are also
covered in a news release which University Communications is mailing to all
local news outlets today. If you would like to have a copy of the 3-page news
release faxed or emailed to you today, please call Ruth Gerstner,
director of news services, at 292-8424.

Three university officials with traffic and parking responsibilities will
be available for interviews at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Room 1116
Derby Hall, 154 N. Oval Mall. (Derby is the building immediately east of
Bricker Hall). Parking is available on 17th Avenue. Present will be John
Kleberg, assistant vice president for business and administration; Sarah
Blouch, director of transportation and
parking; and Beth Kelley, director of transportation.
They will also be happy to take your questions at other times,
but, because all will be quite busy this week preparing for the
season-opening football game and the upcoming academic year,
this Tuesday session provides the most convenient and efficient
way to speak with all of them.

NOTE TO RADIO STATIONS: InfoLine will carry a story and actualities with
Sarah Blouch Wednesday (9/4) through Friday (9/6). The InfoLine number is
1-800-251-INFO.
