Metal-Forming Conferences to Attract 500 Scientists

METAL-FORMING CONFERENCES TO ATTRACT 500 INTERNATIONAL SCIENTISTS

     COLUMBUS -- Nearly 500 scientists and other experts will 
meet in Columbus next month for three international conferences 
on metal forming technology, especially as applied to the 
automobile industry.  Researchers from Europe, Japan and North 
America are expected to attend, as are representatives from 
Mercedes Benz, Fiat, BMW, Ford, Toyota and Honda.

     Ohio State University's Engineering Research Center For Net 
Shape Manufacturing is host and co-sponsor of the three 
conferences.

     The International Conference on Technology of Plasticity 
will be held Oct. 7-11; Cold and Warm Forging Technology 1996 
will take place on October 7-9, and Sheet Forming Technology 1996 
will be held October 9-11.  All three conferences will take place 
at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

     Scientists at the conferences will present the latest 
research in metal forming technology.  At the same time, 
industrial representatives will present desktop exhibitions 
displaying their companies' products.

     Other sponsors of the three metal forming technology 
conferences are the International Institution for Production 
Engineering Research, Precision Metalforming Association, Japan 
Society for Technology of Plasticity and Forging magazine.
