What makes Urban Meyer so successful? In an upcoming issue of the International Sport Coaching Journal, Ohio State Mansfield Dean Stephen Gavazzi examines how the best college coaches help their players succeed. Using Ohio State's Meyer as a case study, Gavazzi notes how the system he uses with Ohio State's football players bears striking resemblance to a modern day rite of passage. These rites of passage, which have been used by many cultures throughout history, are aimed at helping promote a healthy transition from childhood to adulthood. Ohio State University advances to Silver-level HealthLead Workplace Health Accreditation. The Ohio State University has achieved Silver-level status in the HealthLead™ Workplace reaccreditation, demonstrating the university’s increased engagement and initiation of positive changes to further instill a culture of health and well-being.

The HealthLead Accreditation Program was created in 2012 by nonprofit US Healthiest to recognize private- and public-sector organizations for commitment to workplace health management. Ohio State is one of just 19 organizations to be HealthLead Workplace Accredited.

Through a two-step reaccreditation process, including completion of an online assessment and a site audit, Ohio State advanced to silver status from bronze status, which was achieved at its initial accreditation in 2012. Survey names Ohio State a promising place to work in student affairs. Ohio State’s Center for Higher Education Enterprise (CHEE) announces the results of the 2015 Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs at Research Institutions. According to the study, Ohio State is one of the top 14 most promising places to work in student affairs at research institutions. The survey, conducted in partnership with Diverse: Issues in Higher Education and the American College Personnel Association, further spotlights CHEE’s survey earlier this year by spotlighting additional top-performing student affairs divisions at three institution types.
