Must watch video: Halftime show celebrates New York, New York

The Ohio State University Marching Band was in a New York state of mind for the halftime show of the Ohio State versus Army football game.

The marching band’s tribute to New York coincided with the announcement that TBDBITL was selected to perform in the 2018 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It will be the first appearance by the band in the mother of all parades.

The band spelled out the iconic “I Love NY” image and celebrated the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. One formation even recognized the famous New York yellow cabs.

Music included Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind” and George Cohan’s “Give My Regards to Broadway.”

The i-dotter this week was Powell native Drew Moore. Moore is pursuing a food science and technology major and an agribusiness minor in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Ohio State.

Moore is a graduate of Olentangy Liberty High School. He said dotting the i was a “lifelong dream” and goal of his since he started going to Ohio State football games with his father as a child.
