Off-campus students will ‘Light Up the Night’

Off-campus students at The Ohio State University will “Light Up the Night” with a holiday decorating competition to build community pride. The competition is sponsored by the Community Ambassadors program, a group of students working with other off-campus students, property owners and the university.

More than 150 apartments, houses, fraternities and sororities in the off-campus area are decorated for the competition. The streets with the most participants are E. 13th, E. 14th, E. 15th, Frambes, Lane and Norwich avenues. The competition will be judged by Ohio State students from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesday (12/3) in the University District area.

Media can interview a Community Ambassador about the competition at 8 p.m. Wednesday (12/3) in front of 161 E. Frambes Ave.

Winners of the competition will receive prizes, ranging from a big screen television to gift certificates. Aside from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes, judges also will vote on the “Best Greek” house, the “Santa Buckeye Award” for the most school spirited house and the “Clark Griswald” Award for the most lights per square foot.
