Officials will brief media on Texas game issues

The national college football spotlight will shine on Columbus and Ohio Stadium on Saturday (9/10) as Ohio State hosts the University of Texas for the first time. The sold-out game begins at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ABC.

Due to the late kickoff, officials expect parking lots to begin filling early. Fans should expect large crowds. University and athletics administrators will brief reporters on preparations for game parking, stadium policies and security at 9 a.m. on Wednesday (9/7). While many of these preparations are no different from those for all home games, there will be new information on parking as well as ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and family-friendly atmosphere.

The briefing will take place in the Ohio Stadium home media room. Media should enter gate 32 in the southeast tower and take the elevator to the third floor.

Those attending are Rick Amweg, assistant chief of University Police; Beth Kelley, associate director of transportation and parking services; and Richelle Simonson, associate director of athletics. This availability is the media's best opportunity to gather information on home football games before Saturday's game.
