Ohio Nanotechnology Summit 2006 is April 4-5

The second annual Ohio Nanotechnology Summit will be held April 4-5, 2006 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, 500 N. High Street. Hundreds of attendees from academia, industry and government are expected for the two-day program, which is detailed on the Web at http://www.ohionanosummit.org.

Experts from Ohio and around the country will explain how nanotechnology research is shaping new materials and biomedical tools. They will also discuss technology commercialization activities already underway in Ohio, and new opportunities to emerge from Third Frontier programs (due to the recent passage of Ohio's Issue 1, a $2 billion dollar bond issue aiming to invest $500 million in Ohio's technology future).

Ohio Governor Bob Taft and Lt. Governor Bruce Johnson top the agenda, along with keynote speakers from Battelle, Procter & Gamble, and the Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies at MIT. Tours of Ohio State University nanotechnology labs will be offered; special panel sessions will focus on the real-world impacts of nanotechnology, such as new developments in energy, health and safety, and computing.
