Ohio State community takes part in ‘Rock the Block’ day of service

Members of The Ohio State University will take part in the first “Rock the Block” day of service on Sunday (5/2) to make a difference in the community and to help build pride in the University District area where many students live.

The event is set from noon to 4 p.m. Registration begins at noon at the plaza next to the Wexner Center at 15th Ave. and High St. President Karen Holbrook will discuss the importance of the student-led community service project at approximately 3:45 p.m. in front of Stillman Hall, 1947 College Road.

Volunteers from Ohio State will travel to more than 50 locations in and around the University District area. Service sites include churches, OSU facilities and parks. Those who volunteer will get a free ticket to the Guster concert at Promowest Pavilion on Friday (5/7).

Rock the Block is a single-day community service project that is a part of the University’s May Week and Greek Week events.
