Ohio State faculty award winners to be recognized at ceremony
President Karen A. Holbrook will recognize 19 faculty for earning the university’s top awards in teaching, service or research at 4 p.m. today (3/30) in Weigel Hall Auditorium, 1866 College Road.
Recipients will receive either the Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching, the Distinguished Scholar Award or the Faculty Award for Distinguished University Service. Open to the public, the ceremony will be followed by a reception in the second-floor lobby of Weigel Hall.
The awards acknowledge the distinguished careers of faculty members at Ohio State. The Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching honors faculty members who have done a superior job of teaching and allows them to be inducted in the Academy of Teaching, which provides leadership on improving teaching at Ohio State. The Distinguished Scholar Award recognizes exceptional scholarly accomplishments by senior professors who have compiled a substantial body of research as well as the work of younger faculty members who have demonstrated great scholarly potential. The Faculty Award for Distinguished University Service honors faculty who have made extensive contributions to the development and implementation of university policies and programs through non-administrative roles.
