Ohio State hosts first Wetlands Invitational at Research Park

The first Wetlands Invitational in the more than 12-year history of the Olentangy River Wetlands Research Park will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday (5/15) and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday (5/16). The event is located at the park, 352 Dodridge Road.

The two-day event features 12 wetlands experts from the United States and abroad discussing some of the most important environmental issues of the day: restoring Florida’s Everglades and Louisiana’s disappearing wetlands, solving coastal pollution problems in the Gulf of Mexico and Chesapeake Bay with a “re-plumbing” of wetlands and rivers in large watersheds, and even restoring the original “Garden of Eden” wetlands at the confluence of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in Iraq.
