Ohio State marching band celebrates the Roaring ’20s

TBDBITL swings along to jazz classics

The Ohio State University Marching Band was in the swing of things at halftime today as the Buckeyes battled Tulsa.

The show was a celebration of music from the Roaring ’20s and featured performances of Cecil Mack and James Johnson’s “the Charleston,” George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and other classical jazz standards.

Marching band formations included musicians playing the trumpet, a couple dancing and a giant piano. The marching band was joined by the Ohio State Traditional Jazz Combo, a jazz group from the School of Music led by faculty trombonist Jim Masters. The group played on a stage beginning with the third part of the show.

Ryan Lannutti, a computer science and engineering major, doted the ‘i’ today.
