Marching band wraps up unprecedented season at Michigan game

TBDBITL performs classical tribute during rivalry matchup

The Ohio State University Marching Band wrapped up a remarkable season with a tribute to the classics during the Michigan game.

After five home halftime shows in a row, a trip to Penn State and a combined performance with the Hawkeye Marching Band in October, the band gave Buckeye fans one final home performance with pieces by Leonard Bernstein, Johann Sebastian Bach, Claude Debussy and others.

Due to the pandemic, this was the band’s first appearance at The Game since 2018.

TBDBITL performed “Overture to Candide,” “Toccata in D minor,” “Wedding March,” “Le Régiment de Sambre et Meuse,” “Habanera from Carmen,” “Claire de Lune,” “Festive Overture,” “1812 Overture,” “Simple Gifts” and “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Formations included music notes, beating hearts, the spelling of “Carmen Ohio” and the famous Script Ohio.

Zoology major Avery Voress dotted the “i.” Earlier this year, Voress was featured in an ESPN college football commercial titled “The Greatest Story Ever Played.”
