Ohio State Marching Band hypes up fans with ‘What is Hip?’ halftime show

The Ohio State University Marching Band brought double the energy in a joint halftime performance with the Ohio University Marching 110 during Saturday’s game against the Bobcats. The show marked just the third time in history that TBDBITL has shared the field with an opposing team’s band during halftime.

Featuring a lineup of throwback tunes like “Get It On,” “Open Up Wide,” “Play That Funky Music,” “What is Hip?” and “Hard to Say I’m Sorry/Get Away,” the bands demonstrated why they’re known as the best and most exciting in the land with combined formations of hearts, a trumpet and spellings of “Ohio.”

Ohio State’s pregame performance also included a tribute to William (Ted) McDaniel, who began arranging for the band in 1981.

Saturday’s i-dotter was Brayden Hyder, a landscape architecture major from Grove City, Ohio.
