Ohio State names new senior vice president of talent, culture and human resources

Leadership announcement from President Carter

Ohio State University President Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. sent the following message to campus leaders today (Feb. 7).

Dear Colleagues:

I’m pleased to share that I have named Katie Hall as senior vice president of talent, culture and human resources, pending approval by the Board of Trustees at the February meeting.

Katie HallAs you know, Katie has served as the university’s interim senior vice president since last spring – and, as of this coming Saturday, has been with Ohio State for 24 years. She has served in a variety of leadership roles, including chief of staff and interim associate vice president for shared services in the Office of Human Resources, and chief of staff in the Office of the President. Her background and training are in human resources, having also served in multiple roles in talent acquisition and as an HR business partner for the Wexner Medical Center. She has also served on important shared governance committees, including the University Staff Advisory Committee where she served as chair in 2009.

Since my arrival at Ohio State, I have found Katie to be a kind and open colleague, as well as a consummate professional. Her peers speak highly of her work, her collaborative approach with staff and faculty, and her deep knowledge of human resources and our university community.

Katie is the right leader at the right time, and I know you join me in congratulating her on this appointment.

Thanks,

Ted Carter
President
