2014 Hip Hop Literacies Conference – Feb. 3 and 4. The impact of hip hop music and culture on teaching, social change, women and girls, sexuality and diversity will be explored at this annual conference, which involves university researchers, K-12 educators and middle and high school performers. Events include workshops and a panel discussion with author, producer and hip hop artist Chuck D, a member of Public Enemy. Registration is at the door and costs $10 (free for Ohio State students). Taste of OSU 2014 delivers international cuisine and cultural performances – Feb. 7. The Office of International Affairs, University Dining Services chefs and more than 30 Ohio State student organizations, are preparing an evening of international food, exhibits and cultural performances for the campus community at the 2014 Taste of OSU, which is set for 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High St. The event is free and open to all Ohio State students, faculty, staff, alumni, family and friends. Tickets to purchase small samplings of international foods cost $1 each (Cash and BuckID only). The student organizations will prepare foods with an international flavor that are characteristic of their home countries.
