Ohio State Presidential Search Committee updates search process

Community input, nomination submissions encouraged

Hiroyuki Fujita, chair of The Ohio State University Board of Trustees, sent an update to the campus community about the search for the university’s 17th president today (May 12).

Dear Ohio State Community:

Congratulations once again on an outstanding spring semester and academic year. Your accomplishments continue to improve the lives of people across our state, nation and world.

On behalf of the Presidential Search Committee, I am pleased to share that we are making great progress in selecting the university’s 17th president. We know how busy spring semester can be, so we appreciate the input you’ve given even in this short time frame. It has been invaluable to the process.

We encourage you to continue to submit input and comments as well as nominations. In addition, the University Advisory Subcommittee also recently completed a Presidential Profile, reflecting community input and feedback, that is being used in the search process.

We have seen strong interest in the position, and the process is moving forward efficiently. At this time, and aligned with the previous presidential transition occurring over the summer term, President’s Cabinet continues to lead the management and operations of the university. Cabinet members meet regularly and work collaboratively, and the board is grateful for their collective leadership.

Thank you once again for your contributions, and the Presidential Search Committee will share more soon.

Sincerely,

Hiroyuki Fujita, PhD
Chair, Board of Trustees
